Fun In The Sun!

This summer Allison and I have reconnected with 2 sorority sisters that have recently moved to Tulsa. One was my roommate my freshman year and the other was a couple of years ahead of us in the house. It's been fun to get together and stroll down memory lane and laugh at how crazy our lives are now. Today we all met up for a swimming playdate. Our kids range in age from 16 months up to 10 years old. It is so fun to see everyone's cute kids. Sometimes I feel like I am having an out of body experience--it seems like just yesterday we were back at the Theta house. How did we turn into grown ups with all these kids????

Meanwhile, I am starting to REALLY miss Hannah. The first thing I do each morning is check the camp website for pictures. My girl must be having too much fun to slow down for a picture. I finally got my first good look at her today, the 5th day of camp! Everyday I patiently wait (ok, not so patiently) for the mailman to see if she has sent us a letter. And everyday, I have to make that sad, long walk back up to the house with no letter. Daniel told me that meant she was just having way too much fun to slow down and write a letter. He's probably right. She's just getting too big too fast. Before we know it, our kids will be the ones making those college memories!

Cousins

One of the things I am going to miss the most when we move is watching my kids grow up with their cousins. My kids are with Allison's kids all the time. In fact, Ali and I are together so much we jokingly refer to eachother as "my sister wife". I don't even think our kids realize they are cousins. They think they are siblings.

Tonight we celebrate a first. This is the first time Luke is sleeping over with the girls. Everyone is VERY excited. And I mean VERY excited. I'm wondering how much sleep we will actually get. But, these are the moments we must soak up because in another week all that will change.

On Daniel's side of the family we have 3 boy cousins that live here. They all match up in age perfectly. One boy for each girl. They play great together. They are always together at Grandma's house, birthday parties, and even grew up in Community Bible Study together. The girls will miss them terribly.

We have 2 cousins anxiously awaiting us in Houston. We are excited to make new memories with them, but I will never be able to replace my sister wife!

I Can Blog Too!!!!

After watching several of my friends start blogs, and after spending many nights in front of the computer soaking in the news of their families, I have decided to start a blog of my own. My hope is that as we take off on this new adventure I will be able to keep family and friends abreast of what is going on in our crazy lives! I hope you will check in from time to time to see what is going on in our little world.

As the countdown for moving day approaches, we are cramming much excitement into our last days in Oklahoma. We dropped Hannah off at camp today and she never looked back. This is her second year to go and I must say the drop off the second time around is much easier on Mom! She is with her best friend. They met the first day of pre-k and have been inseparable since. It is a great way for Hannah to mark the end of her time in Oklahoma. This picture was taken right after they took their swim test and right before we hugged goodbye.

I'm getting way too proficient at hugging goodbye...
